A Super Visa is a multi-entry visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, allowing extended stays in Canada. Unlike regular visitor visas, it permits visits up to two years with multiple entries over ten years or until the passport expires, whichever is sooner. It’s ideal for those wishing to enjoy long visits with family in Canada.
Eligibility for a Super-Visa
- Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
- Have proof of parental relationship with child or grandchild, such as a birth certificate that names him or her as a parent
- Have a signed letter of invitation from the child or grandchild residing in Canada
- have documents to prove that child or grandchild meets the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) minimum
- Have medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that is:
- Valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry
- At least $100,000 coverage
- Have proof that the medical insurance has been paid
